I like the idea of a lottery for the non playoff teams(pick the order out of a hat or something simple) and then the rest in order (with the Champ picking last unless there's new G.M's). Obviously with some kind of time limit which if expired bumps down the draft order) Having a lottery with all the non playoff teams equally weighted (no pingpong balls, just one name each out of a hat ;D) still gives G.M's with poor years the advantage but bassically eliminates any ideas of tanking for the all powerful first pick.
In the future perhaps the first five could select in the first hour (in a first come first serve just for those 5 G.M's), next five the second hour and so on. If you missed your hour you just pick as soon as you can. In 6 hours the timed portion of the draft is over and then the stragglers get the leftovers as usual. Just an idea as obviously all this equates to more work for Camino and the mods.
In the meantime for the season 26 free for all, hopefully I can sneak away to the computer in time to get team 4!!!
