I'm not loved around here no more, so my suggestions are probably gonna be ignored. But here's one,
' A Cap-Less season '
You might look at it and think, WOW! Megalison is just trying to ruin the league! But honestly I'm not, and here's why:
1. A cap-less season really shows a GM's skills in negotiating, trading and dealing their given players.
2. Free agency, or lack of in QuickGM helps negate the effect of the Yankess or Red Sox in a league where their is no salary cap. No one in this league can just suddenly sign a 20$ player to their roster. They have to trade for them, thus giving up salary in return anyway.
3. It'd be interesting to see what would happen if someone could get a pair of mega-stars... Ie: Duncan, Paul? And other combinations of players that are usually restricted by our 50$ salary cap.
In all, I honestly think it's a good idea that would add something different to the league, which is what some of you guys have been longing for in a long time...

Lol, starting a thread with "I'm not loved around here" as in presuming how other people think about doesn't help. I'm just saying...
As for your idea, people will read it and leave a response if they like it or dislike it. I think anything's worth a try so why not. A suggestion is a suggestion, better to get it out there than not

Vin and I are still up for the simming idea. However, Live 09 still has kinks to it and it won't be released until October 7th. I don't think this league will wait about 2 weeks for it.
The no salary cap idea isn't a bad idea. However, I don't think it's a great idea. A salary cap puts a person's ability to the test more than no salary cap. How one manages a team under given circumstances is harder than building a team freely.

But I am leaning towards the simulation thing as long as you and Vin are ready for all the work. Posting stats, entering rosters and such.

We can do it, but I think maybe we should have 1 more season before "this simulation thing." NBA Live isnt out yet and also we don't know what franchise features it has, so we'll see.

I still don't understand why you guys use NBA Live over NBA 2k.

Then you sim it, if everyone agrees. The only reason why it's Live instead of 2K is because Stan and I volunteered to do it, and 2K isn't available for our system

Who buys a Wii to play sports games anyway?
BTW how do you play bball games on the Wii? Do you have to use a shooting form?

Brawl sucks compared to Melee/the original SSB.

Brawl sucks compared to Melee/the original SSB. Well, I think it just seems that way cause the original was something completely new, and Melee seemed like a huge amount of stuff thrown at you in one game. Brawl has content bulging from it's disc, it may not have as many character additions compared to the Original vs. Melee but I still think its the best one... Played with a GC controller, it's amazing, totally better than its predecessors.

Maybe we could do this type of season while smoothing out the sim league ideas.

Gameplay is much clunkier, they took out stuff like wavedashing etc, the overall fighting system is slower and way weirder of a feel to get used to than Melee. Not the mention the game is much less innovative than either of its predecessors, the single player modes are a letdown as well but those are minor in comparison to how bad the gameplay is in comparison to SSB/SSBM.

Overall fighting system is fine, controls are the same if that's what you mean. I agree, it's slower than Melee but you get use to it. Innovation is impossible as a series progresses, very few series can keep on advancing with newer and newer styles of gameplay. You have to just enjoy the game's concept for what it is, which is bashing Nintendo (and other) game characters together. Also, the subspace emmisary is a game in itself, which must be noted... Single player isn't much of a letdown i'd say, it was just cause all you people put to much hype into it, whereas SSBB rather put their stuff into other features. You gotta love how the game is loaded with stuff, from characters, tournaments, online play to the subspace emissary. BTW, Online is another huge thing...

Once you beat it once, it's boring. Online is ok. It's great for playing with friends, but playing against 3 random strangers is lame. Most of them suck. Most of them lag. I got used to the taking out wavedashing, etc. However, I think I had more fun on Melee.
