...followed by a whole week of voting... 3 week cycle? 15/17 Voters for round 1 10 Votes for round 2 so far?? Are you kidding me?? We use to have 25/28 voters on a 1 week season followed by 1 day/round vote. Crowning Champs when barely half of the League is involved is a joke.

The discussions for each matchup are making the seasons seem longer then normal. I'd say allow the discussions to run half a day but that wouldn't be fair to our friends from far-away time zones.
The thing about 25/28 voters back then is long gone. The only way we can establish that again is if we wash out almost half the GMs here. Some are just not active, and to make it worse there are certain GMs that consistently do not vote for playoffs. It's ok to miss 1 round but when you purposely miss the entire playoffs then pop back out when the next season start? I think this needs to be monitored and i'm not trying to be forceful or anything but if you don't vote don't play. Simple as that. I'm sure a lot of the active GMs here would agree...
Not saying names, but you know who you are and the mods know who you are.

Agreed, it is a lose/lose debate. Either you allow a day of discussion each round and make it so people can actually say something before the voters vote but you lose activity or you don't allow a day and there is more activity, but people aren't able to say much before people vote. It's just a precarious situation.
I do think there is sometimes a bit of unecessary debating when there is a day plus the voting day to debate though and imo just 1-2 posts by each person should be enough. I also really think more people need to post on other matchups.
There really does need to be some consequences for people who just dissapear during playoffs. If you are going on vacation or have a legitimate reason, that's cool but half the league doesn't just go away during playoffs. Some ideas I can come up with:
1. Inactive people lose team senoirity 2. Inactive people don't get to choose a team until the last day before rosters come out and if the league fills up before then, then too bad. 3. Inactive people can only use $49 for the next season and $1 less each season if they continue. 4. Inactive people start out with one less vote the next time they make it into playoffs.
Those are just some ideas, obviously all of them together would be too much, but I think maybe 1-2 of them could be implemented.
