I agree that some players don't seem to care enough, but there is no reason why there should be no greets or hand-shakes before the game. After all the sport is game, the point of the game is to have fun. If the top professionals seem to want to kill each other every game what does that tell the youths watching? Competitiveness is a good thing but it also shouldn't be overdone. Much like almost everything in life there needs to be a balance and this is no exception. Its not good to act like VC everytime you play but I think its also unnecessary to come to the point where shaking hands before the game is disallowed.
Without sportsmanship things eventually get out of hand, and when they do bad things happen. In reality that is what too much competition does.
