This place has been pretty dead, so i'll try to give it a bit of life with some NBA discussion.
First poll - Who do you think is the biggest surprise in the NBA so far? Those are just some guys I think have been doing really well and may be exceeding expectations.
My vote definitely goes to Nash... not only is he filling up the stats, but he's turned the Suns back into a potential playoff contender. They look like they're playing the way they were a few years ago under D'Antoni and Nash has singlehandedly made guys like Channing Frye and Jared Dudley look really good.

Everyone is hyping Jennings for ROTY but yet Tyreke Evans is putting up nearly the same stats and is above and beyond a better defender.
Suprise? Yes. ROTY? No.

Why is ariza not up there. He was good in the playoffs. I didn't expect this kind of breakout from him.

I don't really see Ariza as much of a surprise... I mean he's a top option on a Rockets team that on paper seems pretty week offensively. I pretty much expected him to reach where he's at now.
You guys need to think about Nash though... no one, NO ONE expected the Suns to play the way they are right now, and Nash is the sole reason behind it. He's singlehandedly made use of otherwise unnoticeable role players like Channing Frye and Jared Dudley among others and at the same time has a whopping 12 apg. As of now i'd consider him the best PG in the league considering his only real competition in CP3 is piloting a struggling Hornets team who for the most part have a very similar team to the Suns.

You expected 18+ PPG 5+ RPG 3+ APG, over 2 3pm and steals per game and .6 bpg out of Ariza. I think the Change of style helped out PHX. Nash is surpising but was always better in the run and Gun more what they did with shaq

We all knew his defense was there so it was really just a matter of minutes. We knew he was getting his minutes being on Houston with not much competition so 18 ppg and 5 rpg was not out of the question. He plays 39 mpg, that's a lot of playing time considering most SF's in the league average around 35-36mpg... being a good shooter he'd never have problems getting the points and considering the Rockets don't really have a huge rebounding big man the rebounds had to go to someone.
I'm not saying Ariza isn't a surprise... but in my eyes it was gonna happen therefore he shouldn't be considered a surprise as much as the Suns and Nash are or Jennings is.
