Magic in 7 besides the Kobe factor: Gasol can't guard Lewis outside the paint Howard will shit on Bynum Hedo will out dual Ariza in a thrilling matchup Alston/Johnson over Fisher/Farmar Magic bench is too good this post season, Lakers bench can't guard Pietrus and Gortat

Don't count out Nelson...he might be back for the finals....so Nelson/Alston would be a good meatchup..

Odom-lewis would be a good match-up. U could see more zone defense in this series will the bad man to man match-ups

Otis Smith has continually denied that his PG will be back. Too much of a risk for the future.

Poll is locked, but I would have picked the Lakers in 6. Can't honestly believe some people actually believe the Magic will close out the Lakers on LA's home floor. The Magic are talented (not as talented as the Lakers) and have depended on that + their matchup advantages to advance in the playoffs so far. They beat an overwhelmed 76ers team in the 1st round and a banged up, tired Boston team in the 2nd round. Clearly beating Cleveland this past round was a huge step for them, but they were a great matchup for the Magic. 2 sub 6'4" guards to try and match up with Hedo, Pietrus and Lee for an entire series? The Cavs just couldn't close out on the Magic 3-point shooters, which is obviously a big part of Orlando's gameplan.
The Lakers on the other hand beat a talented Jazz team (overmatched still), a Rockets team that matched up fantastically against Kobe, but came up short losing Yao midway through the series and a Nuggets team that plays similarly to the Magic. They run a lot, shoot a lot of threes and take advantage of their mismatches.
In the Finals, there's no way Phil Jackson won't put Bynum on Dwight (Bynum is LONGER than Dwight is by the way), Gasol or Odom on Lewis and Ariza on Turkoglu. You don't think Kobe can handle a rookie Courtney Lee or Mikael Pietrus on either side of the ball? The matchup just doesn't favor Orlando in this series and the Magic can't fall back on their talent to carry them, mostly because the Lakers are even more talented. The 2-3-2 format strongly favors the Lakers because it mostly hints that Orlando will have to beat LA TWICE in LA to win this series, which is no easy feat. The Magic would have to shoot lights out from 3 again for the 2nd series in a row to win this one, which I don't see happening with the Lakers length on the floor
Lakers in 6

SI said in their latest issue -
Lakers in 6 games. And they seem pretty oppressive to a Magic victory.

At least we can't say Hedo Turkoglu plays mediocre defense now. A clutch block on Kobe and pressured Kobe to turn it over in overtime.

never count out the Magic, they're a great team at making adjustments...
looks what they did in game 2 after getting blown out in game 1... forced OT and if they were abit luckier, they might have pulled out the victory...
the key is in the the 3 home games... they NEED to take those to have a good chance...

Congratulations to Kobe and Phil. They both deserve it. Considering I am about 100 miles from the stadium.
